Valorous Power appreciated the drop back to a mile when making all to open his account in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Limerick.

Dylan Browne McMonagle gave the son of Frankel a positive ride and the 100/30 chance asserted over a furlong out before keeping on well to hold off promising newcomer Hellorhighwater by a a length and a quarter. Daler was a further three lengths back in third while evens favourite Naples appeared to be travelling well entering the straight but could find no extra from over a furlong out finishing fourth.

Winning trainer Joseph O’Brien was represented by Mick Halford who said, "Dylan is very good riding from the front and used this horse's experience. He had the form to win, and Dylan kept it very simple on him.

"He is a lovely horse, has a good attitude and I'd say he will keep improving with racing. We're delighted to get the maiden win with him."
