Velvet Flicker justified 8/13 favouritism when winning the Irish Stallion EBF Median Auction Race for trainer Kevin Prendergast and jockey Declan McDonogh.

The 95 rated daughter of Fasliyev made all to eventually record a two lengths win over Ruby Suesday .

The win was McDonogh's 47th success of the year while Prendergast has now trained an impressive tally of 28 two year old winners in '09.
