Wall Street landed odds of 4/7 in workmanlike fashion in Leopardstown's Mongey Communications Eyrefield Stakes over one mile and a furlong.

A maiden winner at the south Dublin track in August, the son of Sea The Stars turned for home in third place and improved to lead a furlong out.

After edging left in front, Wayne Lordan's mount was almost joined by Zarak Pasha who threw down a strong challenge on the far rail, but the winner went again and got home by half a length.

"He has the makings of a smashing colt for next year," said Chris Armstrong, representing winning trainer Aidan O'Brien.

“All being well, he'll come back here for one of the trials. Obviously his maiden couldn't have worked out any better this year.

“He was still pretty raw with Wayne, but I suppose with the way the track is set up today turning, he could never really get him balanced and into a rhythm. In fairness, when he asked him, he went forward nicely. The second horse helped him.

“There's still plenty of improvement in there and he's one that will make the winter a wee bit shorter."

Paddy Power cut the winner to 16/1 (from 20s) for the Derby.

It was a double for O'Brien and Lordan, after the win of Speckles in the opener.
