Walsh set for Thursday comeback

Ruby Walsh returns to race-riding on Thursday after recovering from a broken ankle.

The pre-eminent rider has been out of action since a fall at Killarney on May 10.

Although he had his cast removed a couple of weeks ago, it has been a quiet period for Irish jumps racing and Walsh has been taking his time.

John Shortt, Walsh's acting agent while sister Jennifer is away, said: "He's back for a couple of rides at Bellewstown on Thursday.

"I'd say he was looking forward to being back."
