Weather dictates Rivellino's Ayr raid Karl Burke hopes the weather does not prevent Rivellino having a crack at the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup after he finished third in the Stewards' Cup at Goodwood. The North Yorkshire handler is also eyeing a trip to Dubai for the five-year-old before another crack at the All-Weather Sprint Championships at Lingfield, a race in which he claimed seventh spot in April. "It was a fantastic run at Goodwood," said Burke. "He'd been working as well as ever. He has been a horse who has had issues in the past, but we'd had a clear run with him for a change. "He's actually never won on turf - all five of his wins have been on the all-weather - but he's been placed in a Wokingham and a Stewards' Cup. "We'll hopefully get to run in the Ayr Gold Cup but we won't go if it's too soft. "Dubai is in the equation, too, I just need to discuss it with the owners. "I hope to get him qualified for the All-Weather Finals early and then head on to Dubai and come back for Finals' Day."
