Racegoers are advised to keep a close eye on weather forecasts over the next 24 hours as Storm Lorenzo approaches from the Atlantic.

There is a yellow weather warning for rain and wind in place for the Clonmel area from 9am this morning.

Racing is set to get underway at 1.50pm, with the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Captain Christy Rated Novice Chase the highlight on a seven-race National Hunt card.

The going is currently yielding on the hurdle and bumper course, while the chase course is good.

Approximately 5mm of rain is forecast during racing with high winds, and the situation is being monitored.

There is plenty of good jumping action scheduled for the next few days with Gowran Park opening its gates on Friday and Saturday, while Tipperary hosts the ‘Super Sunday’ card.
