Sam Curling and Phillip Enright have successfully combined on many occasions in recent months and fresh from a double at Downpatrick on Sunday, the pair struck again with Kilmore Coral in the Walsh Butler Electrical Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Well-backed from early shows of 8s, the Anthony Creane-owned five-year-old was eventually returned the 3/1 favourite.

Settled in mid-division, the point-to-point winner took closer order from three out and improved into second before the next.

Ridden to lead on the approach to the final flight, she kept finding for pressure on the run-in, holding off effort of Charity Barnum by three-quarters of a length.

The runner-up was returned at 8/1 under JJ Slevin for Dermot Day, while Whiskey Serenade (4/1) was another two-and-a-half lengths back in third.

"They are flying at the minute thank God, we only have a small team for the summer but they are running really well so it's great," Curling reflected.

"It's nice that she won, she is owned by people local to me. She won a point-to-point for them and was brought down the last day (officially unseated).

"We fancied her well, it was a low grade race and her point-to-point form was good, so we gave her a chance.

"She jumped super and Phillip gave her a lovely ride. She is a funny filly, he just had her close enough all the way. He is riding brilliant, so it's great.

"I don't know where she'll go after this, we'll see what the handicapper does. She got the job done today and that’s the main thing.

"We keep very few for the track, we'd only have maybe 10 every year. We just fell on a few nice horses for the summer and they are all running well on the ground. Phillip is riding brilliant and the lads at home are doing a great job.

"We will get the point-to-pointers in soon and get back into that."
