Having been all the rage with punters throughout the day, the well supported Quiet Mutiny stayed on best to make a winning debut in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Fairyhouse.

Available at 16/1 in the initial markets, the Gavin Cromwell trained newcomer was backed at all rates down to 3/1f.

Robert Whearty settled the daughter of Starman in the first half dozen, as the more experienced pair Dreamy Skies and Dancing Saxon vied for the lead.

Dylan Browne McMonagle went on aboard the latter filly over two-furlongs out, looking to have matters in hand as he asserted well inside the final furlong.

However, Whearty got a strong late run from Quiet Affair, coming through to take third a furlong out, before sweeping through to lead over 50 yards out. Precise came from off the pace to get up for second, with Dancing Saxon relegated to third close home.

Gavin Cromwell said: “I’m not surprised, and I suppose the market told you that as well. She’s a nice filly and hopefully can keep progressing.

“All her work has been good, and she seems to have a great mind.

“The sire is doing very well and I’m just sorry that I don’t have a few more of them!”

Paddy Power — Lowther Stakes 25/1 (from 66/1)
