Wellwhatshappenin provided the father and son training partnership of Eddie and Patrick Harty with a fifth winner in the space of three weeks when taking division one of the Celebrate Your Special Occasion at Dundalk Stadium Handicap.

The 14/1 shot was reappearing after a three-month break and having his first outing for the Curragh yard having previously been trained by Paddy Hayes.

The son of Smooth Daddy made headway in the straight to lead inside the final 150 yards and kept on well under Jamie Powell to beat Eric Lock by three-quarters of a length. Endless Dawn was a further half a length back in third.

Patrick Harty said, “Paddy Hayes, who used to train him, started with us in August as Travelling Head Lad. He was convinced that this horse had a day in him.

"We were more than happy to take the horse on and go. In fairness, his work has always been very solid. Jamie Powell came in to ride him work about four or five weeks ago and thought bring him back in distance, seven furlongs and he will love Dundalk.

"Hopefully yes (get a stint in Dundalk) - I think he is an ideal candidate for here for the winter."

On stable form he added, "Stable form is great.

"We have a great system in place- the horses are healthy, happy and well. Good staff there to keep the show on the board and everyone is pulling in the same direction. We have horses with talent and ability.

"This is the most difficult place in the world I think to win outside of Hong Kong, somewhere restricted like that. If you can win in Ireland, you can win anywhere. It takes a good horse to win here.

"This is by far and away the best season I've had since I came on the licence, it has been great."

When asked about being busy at the sales he replied, "We have tried to be busy without buying a tonne. We have bought four and I'm going over to Deauville on Sunday for the sale next week.

"It has been tough buying. The market is very strong, but we have bought what we can. We have bought what we liked.

"We have a good idea of what works for us, so we are trying to buy what suits."
