Welsh National Target for Glenquest Stuart Crawford is eyeing up a return to Chepstow for Glenquest as he makes his seasonal reappearance in the Tara Handicap Hurdle at Navan on Sunday. The 12-year-old was just collared close home when third in last year's running of the Welsh Grand National and Crawford is hoping for another crack at the marathon prize. Glenquest made light of a lower timber rating when scoring at Navan just over 12 months ago but Crawford admits it might be tougher now with more weight on his back. Crawford said: "He had a nice hurdle mark last year starting off, almost a stone and a half lower than his chase mark, but this time around there is probably not a lot between them so he'll find it a bit tougher. "He'll either go for the Welsh National or the Paddy Power and the preference would probably be for the Welsh National again if he got in as he ran such a good race there last year. "He got in at the last minute last year and it could come down to a similar situation. "He's so straightforward and travels so well that going over to Chepstow is no problem for him."
