Wings Flying Ahead Of Lowther

Flashy Wings completed her preparations for Thursday´s Jaguar Lowther Stakes at York with a spin on Mick Channon´s gallops this morning.

The unbeaten daughter of Zafonic will have to shoulder a 5lb penalty for her win in the Queen Mary Stakes at the Royal meeting on her first attempt at six furlongs.

Channon plans to give Flashy Wings, 14-1 favourite for next years 1000 Guineas, one further run, in the Sky Bet Cheveley Park Stakes, before putting the filly away.

He has been delighted with her progress since she returned from a midsummer break and he said: 'She´s done everything I could have hoped since resuming full work and I´m looking forward to taking her back to York.

'Obviously she has experience of the course and will like the ground.

'The Lowther has been a lucky race for us in the past and I just want her to go out there and get the job done, then we can concentrate on the Newmarket race.'
