Wings Set To Bypass Curragh

Flashy Wings, ante-post favourite for next year´s 1000 Guineas, is unlikely to take up her engagement in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

The daughter of Zafonic is the 8-1 market leader with both William Hill and Ladbrokes for the Newmarket Classic after winning each of her four starts to date.

She is an eyecatching entry for trainer Mick Channon, particularly as the ?168,600 race would represent a first step up to seven furlongs.

However, Flashy Wings is a doubtful runner with connections planning to head for the Sky Bet Cheveley Park Stakes on September 29 instead.

Joe Mercer, racing manager to owner Jaber Abdullah, said: 'I don´t think she will run. It´s just a precautionary entry which gives us more options but I would say the Cheveley Park is very likely at this stage.'

Rumplestiltskin could try to underline her own Classic credentials in the Group One event.

Aidan O´Brien´s filly is as low as 12-1 with Ladbrokes and William Hill for the Guineas after an impressive two-length success in the Debutante Stakes.

The Danehill filly is one of three entries for the Ballydoyle handler as he also has Lowther third Beauty Bright and once-raced Race For The Stars.

Although Flashy Wings could miss out, Channon could still be represented through Almost Spinning, while Clive Brittain has entered Lowther fourth Lonely Ahead.

John Gosden´s Pure Illusion, the Barry Hills-trained Spinning Queen and Stan Moore´s Dont Dili Dali complete a six-strong British entry in a field of 17.
