Workforce pleases in workout

Sir Michael Stoute's Workforce enjoyed a workout this morning as connections consider the options for the Derby winner.

The Khalid Abdullah-owned colt appeared to be destined for greatness after his devastating display at Epsom but he looked a shadow of that horse when beaten into fifth in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.

While all concerned were pleased with his most recent stretch, the owner's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe insists any decisions on Workforce's next race have still to be made.

"The horse worked this morning and Sir Michael seemed happy with him, but there have been no decisions made yet," said Grimthorpe.

"So far the signs are good. His work has been stepped up and we will make a decision when the horse has told Sir Michael and Sir Michael has told us, but we're not at that stage yet."
