Zebedee heads Childers field The speedy Zebedee goes for his sixth win from seven starts when he takes on 12 rivals in the Polypipe Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster on Friday. The only blot on his copybook to date came when he finished fifth to Approve in the Group Two Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. He now has a second crack at that level after lifting the Group Three Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and a valuable event at Newmarket two weeks ago. Trainer Richard Hannon is keen on the chances of the Invincible Spirit youngster, who is his only runner on the card. "Zebedee showed at Newmarket that he gets the six furlongs, but arguably this five is his optimum trip," he told his website. "There looks like being plenty of pace in the race which will suit us perfectly as Hughesie (jockey Richard Hughes), who knows the little horse inside out, will be able to creep there quietly and, hopefully, produce one of his customary late swoops." Opposition includes the unbeaten New Planet, the in-form Electric Waves, the smart Dinkum Diamond, French challenger Keratiya plus Irish raiders Meow and Ladie's Choice.
