Zenda may be supplemented for Guineas

Zenda, winner of the Poule d`Essai des Pouliches at Longchamp, may be supplemented for Sunday`s Entenmann`s Irish 1000 Guineas.

The John Gosden-trained filly, a narrow winner of the French equivalent a week ago, may be added to the Curragh field at tomorrow`s supplementary stage at a cost of 38,000 Euros.

Teddy Beckett, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, confirmed they are considering the Irish race but do not plan to make a firm decision until tomorrow.

He said: 'We have not decided as yet. She is a possible but it has not been decided. We have to make a decision by tomorrow afternoon as that is when the supplementary stage is.'

She could join Mick Channon`s Queen`s Logic, who will be bidding for compensation after going lame at the last minute before the Sagitta 1000 Guineas, in the one-mile Classic.

Sir Michael Stoute`s Alasha, third in the Guineas, is another possible runner along with Gossamer who disappointed when favourite at Newmarket.

There are 42 British entries among the 91-strong preliminary field. Forfeits and supplementary entries must be completed by 12noon tomorrow.

Forfeits and extra entries for the weekend`s two other big races - the Entenmann`s Irish 2000 Guineas and the Tattersalls Gold Cup - must also be completed by the same deadline.

A preliminary field of 72 horses is engaged in the 2000 Guineas, but Sagitta 2000 Guineas winner Rock Of Gibraltar looks certain to go off favourite after trainer Aidan O`Brien confirmed he is a definite runner at the Curragh.

The Tattersalls Gold Cup has attracted 29 entries, with Nayef and Desert Deer two of the possible 19 runners in the Group One event over a mile and two furlongs.
