A Snow White Park wins dramatic Kilbegnet Chase A Snow White Park (11/2) enhanced her breeding value in scoring at Grade 3 level today, landing Roscommon’s Ballymore Group Irish EBF Kilbegnet Novice Chase in dramatic style, for trainer Mags Mullins and son jockey Danny Mullins. Morning-favourite Daddy Long Legs was withdrawn (coughing) from the race and while Wild Bill Hickok, the only gelding in the four-runner race, led for much, weakened in the home straight. Initially held-up, Miss Fourie had blundered badly at the first fence and while later improving to lead jumping the last, again made a hash of that obstacle which effectively handed victory to A Snow White Park . Femme Magnifique then inherited the runner-up spot following Miss Fourie’s dramatic final fence-error, whose rider Danny Gilligan completed the course with a slipped saddle and minus irons. Each of the first three finishers, all mares, were gaining black-type for the first time with jockey Mullins, who won Wednesday’s Kerry National, reporting “it was a brilliant performance and she is improving. Even though Galway went all wrong I learned a lot about her that day and we dropped her in trip today as it was a graded race. “She jumped so well and even with her mistakes down the far side, she didn’t lose her pitch and was tough at the finish. Jumping probably won it for her late on and hopefully she can go on to more. “She’s a Walk In The Park mare that won as a four-year-old over hurdles and now is a graded winner over fences, so she’s going to be worth a lot of money to breed with.
