Absolute Blast primed for Curragh Trainer Archie Watson expects his star mare Absolute Blast to make her presence felt in the Kilboy Estate Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday. The daughter of Kodiac has been in the first three on each of her last nine starts, landing the Listed Magnolia Stakes at Kempton along the way. Since then she has finished second in the Easter Classic at Lingfield, second in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom and third in a Group Three in Germany. The five-year-old steps up to Group Two level for her Irish debut but with the ground in her favour, Watson is relishing the challenge. "She got a little bit stuck in the mud in Germany last time, but came out of it well and I think the ground will suit her better on Sunday. She's in good order and we're looking forward to it," said Watson. "It is a Group Two and there are plenty of talented fillies in there, but on her rating she should be very competitive. "She's been a great filly for us and it's great to be competing in these races. "She goes there in great order and it's the right race for her." Absolute Blast faces six rivals, with Martyn Meade's Nottingham Listed race winner Wilamina also making the journey from Britain. Tony Martin's Laganore, Dermot Weld's Sea Swift, the Jim Bolger-trained Turret Rocks and Aidan O'Brien's pair of Elizabeth Browning and Pocketfullofdreams make up the field. The bumper eight-race card gets under way with the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, for which Bolger's Dawn Delivers is likely to be a warm order after finishing second on her first two starts. Johnny Murtagh's Bellewstown scorer Golden Spell bids to give weight and a beating to seven opponents in the Plusvital Speed Gene Nursery Handicap, including Joe Murphy's Deep Breath, who made a successful start to her career at Fairyhouse earlier this month. Last-time-out winners Surrounding, New Terms and Jet Streaming all contest the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap, while Willie Mullins saddles the long-absent Digeanta, as well as Sure Reef, in the Killashee Handicap over two miles. Covetous, Curly Girl, Famous Pearl and Kamili all bring decent placed form to the table in the Curragh "Where Champions Are Made" Fillies Maiden. The final race of the day is the Corinthian Challenge Charity Race.
