Agent Boru to go up in trip Agent Boru, a strong-finishing eighth in the Grade B Coral.ie Handicap Hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival, still has trainer Tom Gibney perplexed as to his optimum conditions. "He ran a funny race. He dropped himself out of it at a crucial stage leaving himself with an impossible task," reflected the former Irish Grand National winning handler. "That's not the first time he's done that either and we're still trying to figure him out — he's a bit of a puzzle. "He was bang there in a lovely position turning off the back straight in about third. "He must have let twenty horses pass him between turning out of the back and turning into the straight then. "He done something similar in a good handicap in Fairyhouse before. He was there turning in before dropping out and looking as if he was going to be bang out of sight. "He went down to the last then, picked up, came home like a train and was only beat three lengths." As to the future the Brian Boru gelding is set to go further in future with Gibney revealing: "We're definitely thinking now that he'll be going up in trip. We have run him over two and a half before and that didn't work out for whatever reason though. "I think the world of him — I think he's a hell of a good horse if I can get it right with him and keep him focussed for the whole race. "He'll probably get a Cheltenham entry though he'll likely struggle to get into the handicaps. "I'm not that pushed with him though his owners are keen to go. "He's a former point-to-pointer. He was brought down at the last in his first one and he won his second one."
