All eyes were on Aidan O'Brien's 2,000 Guineas favourite Albert Einstein who was running for the first time since last May. Sent off a drifting favourite at 11/10, he raced keenly in mid-division and never landed a blow in finishing sixth. Winning trainer Charles O'Brien said of the Allegro Syndicate's stalwart “I wasn’t really expecting that. Coming here last year I thought he had a good chance, but today I thought there were a few in there that probably had a bit more class than him, but you can’t beat honesty. “The longer I hang around this game, attitude is more important than an awful lot of things. “If you look at his program for the last seven or eight years, it’s going to be pretty much the same! “He couldn’t be any easier to deal with at this stage, he’s an old pro.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
