Bellewstown make a much earlier start to their 2022 season with an eight-race Flat card starting at 3.30pm.

This is a new fixture for the popular Meath venue which will have a total of eight days' racing this year.

The track hosted a hugely sucessful day in late September when a great crowd was present to cheer home Frankie Dettori in a one-mile handicap which was the centrepiece of a fund-raising meeting for the late Barney Curley's charity Direct Aid For Africa.

A pleasant and mostly dry spring afternoon is forecast and the ground remains good, good to yielding in places.

Kilbeggan also swings into action for the year this week with a two-day fixture which begins tomorrow. The ground is good to yielding, good in places and selective watering is taking place with a mainly dry outlook.

By contrast, after 5mm of rain in the last 24 hours, the ground remains heavy at Tipperary for their opening fixture of the season tomorrow which is on the Flat. It's set to stay dry there as well over the next couple of days.
