Alliance on the mend Tony Martin feels it is likely that Northern Alliance will line up in the John Smith's Grand National at Aintree on Saturday. The ten-year-old's participation had been under a slight cloud but he has reportedly made good progress from a stone bruise setback. Martin said: "He's been ridden out today (Wednesday) so hopefully we're nearly there. I'd be hoping we'll declare him anyway."
