Altimara comes good off topweight for O'Sullivan and O'Connor Altimara opened her account when getting on top close home to defy topweight in the Tote Handicap at Leopardstown. Trained by Ross O’Sullivan for Yvonne Lavin, the 13/2 co favourite of three struck the front inside the final 150 yards under Donagh O’Connor to beat Shelbourne Flyer by a length. Liamo was a further length and a quarter back in third with Lorr’s Girl completing the places in fourth. O’Sullivan said, “As a two-year-old it looked like she was going to be a nice filly but is very big and maybe just got very weak on us. “She then got very keen and wouldn’t settle in her races. It’s taken a long time for this to come together. “The track suited well, and I’m delighted for Donagh O’Connor who is a great horseman and very underrated.”
