Injured rider Jordan Gainford was credited with Annie Button rsquo;s (11/2) maiden success in Cork’s Bet With Tote.ie On Racing & Sports Handicap Hurdle today, as stand-in rider Danny Gilligan steered the Peter Flood-trained mare to success.

A runner-up at Naas two starts ago in March, the Jolly Boys Syndicate-owned Annie Button today powered home on the run-in, to edge a head success Only For Our Man .

Flood wasn’t present and afterwards Gilligan reported “she did it well and was good and gutsy from the back of the last. I have to give a big shout to Jordan Gainford who is his ride normally but he got a nasty fall (fracturing a vertebrae) in Punchestown. I’m very friendly with Jordan so he filled me in on how to ride this mare.

“That’s my first winner for Peter (Flood) who I ride work for when I get a chance, so I’m delighted for him.”
