Anushka off the mark Anushka made it third time lucky when opening her account in the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Fillies Maiden at Dundalk. The Henry de Bromhead-trained daughter of Invincible Spirit went to post a 6/1 shot in the seven-furlong contest and was delivered to challenge passing the two pole by Shane Foley. She hit the front a furlong-and-a-half down, despite carrying her head a bit awkwardly, and really hit her stride in the closing stages as she stayed on for a three-parts-of-a-length win over What About Us. The winner had been third on her last outing at Navan, over just shy of six furlongs. Foley said: "It’s the first time I've sat on her and she gave me a nice feel. "We didn't go overly fast, the fractions were slow, and we dashed up the straight. I ended up going with the lads and she has completely parked when I got to the front. She has won with plenty in hand. "There's not a blow out of her and moved really well on the surface. "I'd say she is a nice filly for next year. "She was in stall one the last day, she raced on what you could say is a different part of the track - in a different race nearly. We were high (draw) the last day and I do like my filly (Kindergarten) that won in Navan. "The form was strong coming into it, I'd say she stepped forward as well. "She gave me a lovely ride and she did everything properly, and put me in a nice position. Travelled round easy and it was easy on my behalf." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
