Apache Outlaw back to winning ways in claimer at Dundalk Apache Outlaw, the 11/10 favourite, led home a one-two for trainer Ado McGuinness in the six-furlong claimer at Dundalk. He was well ahead of his seven rivals with a rating of 84 and Reese Holohan kept him up to his work in the final furlong to hold the challenge of stablemate Go Athletico (7/2) by three quarters of a length. Saint Acclaim was a further two lengths away in third at 9/4. McGuinness said: "Nice weight. "I suppose we were struggling with this horse, he hasn't won in a couple of years, and we have been struggling with him big-time. "He's a lot lower on the grass, I think he is 20lb lower, and he can't win off it. "It just looked a nice opportunity. "He is what he is and we could lose him, but will he win off that mark up here? He could struggle in a good, proper handicap. "Go Athletico, delighted with him the way he ran. He's back to a nice mark and we might give him a wee bit of a stint here. "That was my 50th winner in the calendar year and it was grand to get it, we are delighted for everybody." Apache Outlaw was claimed by James McAuley to be trained by Dennis Hogan, while Go Athletico was claimed by J Fairhurst to be trained by Ado McGuinness. Saint Acclaim was claimed by Jordan Kidd to be trained by Jordan Kidd.
