Having won the opening race on the card, trainer Willie Mullins completed a quick double when the Sean O'Keeffe ridden Arctic Fly stayed on best to land the Tipperary Town Plate Handicap Chase.

A winner on her chasing debut at Killarney last August, the mare had failed to complete when stepped up in class into graded races on her final two starts last term.

However, making her handicap debut in calmer waters this afternoon, the 12/1 chance travelled well throughout, before being produced from off the pace to challenge at the last.

Soon heading St Faz on the run-in, the seven-year-old kept on well to win by one-and-three-quarter lengths.

Jockey Sean O'Keeffe wore a black armband as a mark of respect due to a recent bereavement in the owners family.

He reported: "There was a good pace on which suit her. I was always happy with my position in the race.

"She jumped well and kept on well from the last."
