Racing Victoria officials have revealed the Queen's Royal Ascot winner Dartmouth is top of their wishlist for this year's Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained four-year-old brought the house down at last month's showpiece fixture when carrying the Royal silks to victory in the Hardwicke Stakes.

Connections have not yet firmed up plans for the remainder of the campaign, but Racing Victoria's international recruitment officer Leigh Jordon will do everything in his power to ensure a trip Down Under is under consideration.

"I think he's the right sort of horse, and to have the Queen's horse come to Australia in the year of her 90th birthday would be fantastic," Jordon said

"He's right at the top of my wishlist for this year's Spring Racing Carnival.

"The main concern is that he will probably run in the King George next and then possibly the Arc in France.

"That being said, the Hardwicke into the King George is the same form lines that Snow Sky came through last year en route to the Melbourne Cup so I'm hoping our Carnival could still be on the radar for Her Majesty.

"The Hardwicke is a ballot-exempt race into the Caulfield Cup and that looks a perfect race for him."

The Queen's racing manager John Warren refused to be drawn on the subject or future targets when contacted by Press Association Sport.
