Ballinea proves a Star on third start Ballinea Star showed the benefit of a couple of runs when getting off the mark at the third attempt in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Cork. Trained by Robson De Aguiar for his wife Giselle, the Space Blues filly was prominent throughout in this six-furlong event. The 15/2 shot was driven out by Donagh O’Connor to beat Argentarius by half a length with Scandi Noir a further length and three-quarters back in third. De Aguiar was represented by Adrian Murray who said, “She is a good filly and some of the ones who beat her the last day are proper horses. She was green the last day but was straight as a gun barrel today and is getting better with her run. "We're very happy with her and I think Robson is talking about going for the Airlie Stud Stakes (June 27) next. She is ground-versatile and Robson thinks an awful lot of her.” He added, “Since Robson has taken out his license, I still go racing for them an odd day and am going to Ascot next week. I'm doing a bit for them any time I get a chance.” Quotes by Tom Weekes
