Having landed the first race on the card, Joseph O'Brien and Dylan Browne McMonagle quickly doubled up as Ballyskeagh won the following Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden at Leopardstown.

A promising fifth on her debut at Roscommon last month, the Mrs Anne Marie O'Brien owned filly took a significant step forward here on her second appearance.

Sent off 7/4f (from 5/2), the daughter of Gleneagles stayed on strongly inside the last 150 yards to beat Star Glory by half-a-length.

Joseph O'Brien said: "Dylan just said she still felt quite green and, is still immature. At the same time, he couldn't fault her from a wide draw. You'd like to think she's a filly that will have no trouble going a mile in time.

"The last day, she actually just fell out of the gates and, around Roscommon it's kind of all over. Her last furlong-and-a-half was pretty good and, we thought if she could get a better spot today, she'd be a lot closer to the Bolger filly and, that's how it worked out."
