Bambino Fever off the mark over hurdles There was another one-two for trainer Willie Mullins in the Download The Tote App Mares Maiden Hurdle at Fairyhouse as crack bumper mare Bambino Fever got off the mark over flights at the second attempt. The Champion Bumper winner at Cheltenham and also successful in the equivalent event at Punchestown, the daughter of Jukebox Jury had been turned over at 1/4 on her hurdling debut at Naas but had no problem landing odds of 1/10 here, making all and stretching clear on the run-in to account for stablemate Cornelienne by 12 lengths.  Jockey Paul Townend, carrying the colours of the O'Connell Morgan Syndicate, enthused “That was grand. I would have liked a lead as she wasn’t doing a lot in front, but she was jumping clean. “She had to get down and race over the last two. I didn’t get anywhere near the bottom of her,  but she learned how to jump fast and she did it well. “We would have been disappointed if she didn’t do what she has done. I can’t tell you from that the ability she has, but I liked what she did. “She jumped clean early but got the experience of being in front as well, if she has to do that in future. “When I woke her up, she was good.” Bambino Fever was shortened to 13-8 fav, from 5-2 fav, by Paddy Power for the Mares' Novices' Hurdle.
