Barnavara bids for another stakes win at Naas Jessica Harrington is hoping to add another stakes win to Barnavara’s CV at Naas tonight. The Calyx filly landed a Listed race at Navan earlier this month and steps up to ten furlongs for the first time this evening in the Group 3 Al Shira’aa Racing Irish EBF Jannah Rose Stakes. Harrington is hopeful she will see out tonight’s trip, given the way she finished out over a stiff mile last time. “I’m looking forward to her running tonight,” said the Moone handler. “She stayed on very well in Navan, a tough track. I know she’s got to go another two furlongs tonight and I’m hoping for a very big run from her. “She’s a very big filly, she’d be nearly 16-3, and she has only now started to fill into her frame. “She probably was a little bit weak in spite of what she did last year. Hopefully we can get a Group 3 on her CV as well as a Listed race. “Bonnie Moon also runs. She won very well in Dieppe. “As long as the ground is good she will run. She’s a stayer and it’s probably a little bit short for her but I’ve been very happy with her since she won in France.” (Alan Magee)
