Noel Meade has enjoyed plenty of success on this weekend at Fairyhouse down the years and the Tu Va handler is again well represented at one of his local venues today and tomorrow.

The Grade One BARONERACING.COM Royal Bond Novice Hurdle features Cask Mate for the Meade team and the Castletown operator said: "Cask Mate is going up a lot in class but he’s in good form and we are happy with him. He’s progressing well and we’ll keep our fingers crossed.

“We did a blood test on Jesse Evans and it didn’t come up quite right so we decided that we wouldn’t take a chance and we’ll leave him until Christmas.

Brace Yourself goes for the former champion trainer in the Grade B BARONERACING.COM Porterstown Handicap Chase.

“We hopped and trotted about whether to run him or not. We think the trip will suit him. He’s only a novice but he’s staying well," said Meade.
