Black Caviar Gold followed-up on her breakthrough success at Cork, as she comfortably accounted for eight rivals in the Group 3 Weld Park Stakes.

Sent off a 4/1 chance, the Paddy Twomey-trained grey raced in mid-division on the outer under Billy Lee and took closer order from the two-furlong pole.

Ridden to lead with a furlong to go, the E270,000 Tattersalls yearling purchase readily stretched clear in the closing stages and came home two-and-three-quarters of a length to the good in the colours of Bond Thoroughbred Limited.

Also returned at 4/1, Pivotal Attack who beat the winner at Galway in July, had to settle for second under Gary Carroll, while Minerva (25/1), who led for much of the contest, was a short head away in third.

Well-supported from 10s early, Amelia Earhart was sent off the 3/1 favourite and she finished a disappointing fourth.

"She's a nice filly and we've taken our time with her and let her come to us. She won impressively on rain-softened ground the last day and I thought she was ready for a step into this company," Twomey reflected.

"The plan had been to be a bit handier, but she just missed the kick. Billy said she went through the race lovely and ideally he could have done with a lead for a bit longer, but he thinks she is a classy filly.

"She's learning about racing as she goes. She had sore shins in the spring and that's why I was looking for softer ground this year. I think as she gets older and gets stronger it (the ground) will make no difference.

"She's had four runs, and I'd say that will be it for this year."

STEWARDS REPORTS

The Raceday Stewards interviewed G.M. Ryan, rider of Kensington Lane concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Evidence was heard from the rider who accepted he had maneuvred to the rail before the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the rider was in breach of Rule 211 and having considered his clean record, they suspended him for one raceday.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Magny Cours ridden by Ben Coen, placed fifth, and Smexy ridden by James Ryan, placed sixth, where it appeared contact was made between the two horses. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. B.M. Coen said his mount leaned left for a stride but he correct her immediately. J.J.G. Ryan said he received slight pressure from his right. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Kensington Lane, trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
