Crystal Black will attempt to defend his crown in the Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown next Thursday.

The progressive Gerry Keane-trained bay enjoyed a stellar 2024 and was unbeaten in four starts.

Fourth of seven on his return to action in the Alleged Stakes at the Curragh in April, the Teofilo seven-year-old hasn't been seen since.

"He is coming back nicely and will run in the Ballyroan Stakes next Thursday," Keane revealed.

"He is also in the St Leger Trial but he won the Ballyroan last year so that's what we're planning towards.

"He had a little wind operation since his last run and seems to be working well now. His wind doesn't seem to be stopping him in his work now so hopefully he will bring that to the track with him."
