Board Pleases In Lingfield Spin Ouija Board is on course to return at Newmarket next month after pleasing trainer Ed Dunlop in a racecourse gallop.Big-race pilot Jamie Spencer made the trip down to Lingfield from York to partner last year´s dual Oaks winner over a mile in company with a stablemate.'She went to Lingfield last night, stayed overnight and did a piece of work there this morning with a lead horse,' Dunlop told At The Races on Thursday.'Mr Spencer kindly flew down from York and came and sat on her and the outcome was very favourable. She worked a mile, a nice progressive piece of work. She went about eight lengths clear of her lead horse. The jockey was happy and she enjoyed the experience.'Ouija Board has only run once this season, when a disappointing seventh of eight in the Prince of Wales´s Stakes at Royal Ascot at York.It later transpired the filly had suffered a small stress fracture to her near-fore cannonbone but she has made a speedy recovery from that problem.Dunlop is now targeting the September Stakes on September 3 for the Cape Cross filly before trying for a repeat of last year´s win in the Breeders´ Cup Filly & Mare Turf, run at Belmont Park this year.'She has obviously only run the once at Royal York when she didn´t run great. We wanted her to enjoy herself and so far everything has gone well,' added Dunlop.'We are going to start with the Group Three September Stakes and take it from there.'We are on track now and as long as she´s OK she will run next at Newmarket. She won´t carry a penalty for being a Group One winner and it was logical to run close to home.'Hopefully it will be a small field - I hope everyone is listening and will all be scared off by her!'If she comes through that, then hopefully you will be seeing her in the Breeders´ Cup.'(C) PA Sport
