Brown Panther ready for racecourse gallop Brown Panther is likely to have a racecourse gallop this week as he continues in his race against time to be fit to defend his crown in the Palmerstown House Estate Irish St Leger. The seven-year-old made a sparkling return to action in the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan in March, but has been on the sidelines since being narrowly denied by Snow Sky in the Yorkshire Cup in May. Trainer Tom Dascombe remains keen to see his stable star return to the Curragh on September 13. Asked whether the Irish Leger remained on the agenda, Dascombe said: "Very much so. "The intention is to take him for another racecourse gallop at some stage this week - that will tell us a bit more. "We're happy with him at the moment, so we'll see."
