Dylan Browne McMonagle rode a Fairyhouse treble when Joseph O'Brien's Delta rallied for victory in the median auction maiden on Fairyhouse's card.

The even-money favourite wandered when he got to the front over a furlong out and Ededlak joined issue inside the furlong marker with the front two moving clear.

The challenger led narrowly in the closing stages, however, Delta rallied well close home to get the verdict by a head from the 15/2 runner-up. Floresta (20/1) was almost four lengths off that pair in third.

A stewards enquiry was called as the leaders came close on two occasions in the final furlong, but the result stood.

Browne McMonagle was also successful on I Bid You Ajou (7/2f) and Duckadilly (6/1). The treble paid 62/1.

Stable representative Michael Halford said: “He battled well. He had the form to win.

“Dylan liked his attitude and said the stronger the race probably the better he’d be.

“He said he wasn’t doing a whole lot when he hit the front but, when the other horse came to battle with him, he raced away again.”
