Dylan Browne McMonagle made it three winners from just three rides at Dundalk this evening and took a big step to becoming Irish champion jockey for the first time when Valorous Power (7/1) took the Bar One Racing Now Streaming Every Race Live Handicap.

The Letterkenny rider had been due to miss the all-weather meeting due to an intended mount in the Group 1 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket this afternoon, but when Queen Of Hawaii was scratched, he jumped on a plane back to Ireland and brought up a near 320/1 treble when bringing the Frankel colt with a sustained run from off the pace to beat Final Voyage by a head.

Browne McMonagle is now eight ahead (90-82) of multiple champion Colin Keane, who was in action at Newmarket today, in the title race.

Like his earlier winners Jungle Power (20/1) and Andab (10/11 fav), Valorous Power is trained by Joseph O'Brien.

The winning rider said: “He was really good. The draw was a bit of a question mark but, thankfully, they went a good gallop and I was able to get a bit of cover.

“He relaxed well and quickened up well. I expected him to do that if I got a clean run. He won well.

“It’s the perfect trip for him, that was a nice fit. He’s a nice horse and hopefully he can keep on progressing.”
