Browne-Souza strikes on his 'winter companion' Aingeal Dorcha provided Adam Browne-Souza with a fourth career success, as he registered his first win since June of 2022 in the DundalkStadium.com Apprentice Handicap. Trained by Andy Slattery, the grey victor, who missed the entirety of 2023 and 2024, tracked the leaders and was ridden to the front with less than two-furlongs to go. Toughing it out well from there, the 15/2 chance ultimately came home a length-and-three-quarters to the good, carrying the silks of the Men Of Forty Eight Syndicate. Returned at 7/2, Marians Gal filled the runner-up spot under Julian Pietropaolo, while the front-running Eighty Eight (10/3f) was another length-and-a-quarter back in third. "He has put it all together tonight. He has been persevering and has kind of been my companion throughout the whole winter," the winning rider reflected. "The tongue-tie is making a difference, he rolled home much better and travelled away lovely throughout the race. "We just changed up the tactics the last couple of times. I sat him in second, built away, travelled lovely and carried me out through the whole race and just picked up. "That's my fourth winner." Additional reporting by Michael Graham
