Burke doubles up at Stratford King Keano gave Cork trainer Liam Burke a welcome change of luck when landing an inspired gamble at Stratford this evening. The 5-y-o gelding was backed from a morning price of 20/1 into a returned SP of 11/8 favourite before obliging by a mere short-head in the John Watson Services maiden hurdle. Surenaga (10/1) made it a double for the stable on the night when running out a comfortable winner of the Walcot Beginners Chase in the hands of Noel Fehily. Surenaga was also available at 20/1 in the morning. Burke had a season to forget over jumps at home when his horses were sick for most of it and he then lost his star chaser Thyne Again who dropped dead only a few days after contesting the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Leopardstown in mid-February.
