Caravaggio tops 12 Commonwealth Cup decs Caravaggio is one of 12 declarations for what looks a superb renewal of the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot on Friday. Aidan O'Brien's gifted colt is unbeaten in five starts and has been the long-time ante-post favourite for the Group One over six furlongs. O'Brien will also saddle Intelligence Cross. Caravaggio is unlikely to have it all his own way, though, as Harry Angel excelled on his last start at Haydock and has been declared by Clive Cox, who will also be represented by Tis Marvellous. Charlie Appleby is a massive fan of Blue Point, too, as the Shamardal colt attempts to maintain Godolphin's electric start to the Royal meeting. There is also deep American interest in the shape of the Wesley Ward-trained Bound For Nowhere, who is two from two this year. Veteran American-based jockey David Flores rides Ward's inmate as Frankie Dettori is injured.
