Carberry role in Flanagan appointment Sean Flanagan's appointment as stable jockey to Noel Meade has the blessing of his predecessor Paul Carberry. Carberry, who retired in August, helped make Meade's decision in promoting Flanagan from number two to retained rider at his Castletown stables in Navan. "I'm very happy with Sean. He's got a great pair of hands," said Meade. "Paul came along and said to me he had been watching him for a while and had never seen him do anything wrong and that he is one of the most underrated jockeys in the weighing room. "When you have that little bit of back-up it wasn't too hard to make a decision."
