Carroll doubles up on Marjorie Daw Marjorie Daw knew where the line was in Gowran Park as she dipped at the right time to take the spoils in the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Filles Maiden over an extended mile. She brought up a double for Gary Carroll who was also successful on Ribee (5/1) in race two. Sanctijude and Marjorie Daw separated themselves from the field inside the final furlong and it always looked like Sanctijude was fractionally in front of her rival, however, Marjorie Daw renewed her challenge close home and dropped her head on the line at the crucial stage. The 4/1 shot prevailed by a nose from the 5/2 runner-up with Chablis Rock (22/1) almost four lengths off this battle in third. Joe Murphy said: “She came on from her first run and is a nice progressive filly that will probably step up in trip next year. “She needed the long straight and another furlong wouldn’t go astray.” Marjorie Daw took fourth on debut at Listowel last month.
