Carroll hit with 14 day whip ban Gary Carroll has been hit with a 14-day ban for his ride on Cercene in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot last week. He was found to have used his whip twice above the permitted limit in the Group 1 contest last Friday and also received a £5,800 fine. The IHRB website currently has Carroll set to serve his suspension from July 4th to 17th. Several reports have however suggested that he would miss the Irish Oaks on July 19th due to the suspension.
