Castle Star has Betfair Sprint Cup in his sights Fozzy Stack is eyeing a Group One in Britain next weekend for his classy sprinter Castle Star. The Starspangledbanner colt won the six furlong Group 3 Marble Hill Stakes during his juvenile campaign last year, and signed off with a runner-up berth in the Group One Middle Park at Newmarket in September. He was unplaced on seasonal reappearance in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes over the minimum trip at the Curragh last month. “He could go to Haydock next Saturday for the Betfair Sprint Cup," Stack said. “He needed the run badly last month and we are getting there. You would imagine the extra furlong will suit as his best form last year was over six." Papilio, a Starspangledbanner filly, is two from four in her juvenile season and finished second in Listed class at Tipperary this month. She holds a clutch of Group-race entries and could be out again over Irish Champions Weekend next month. The trainer said: “Papilio will probably run on Champions Weekend either at Leopardstown or the Moyglare (at the Curragh). We’ll see how it stacks up nearer the time. She’s a nice filly." Stack remains on weather watch for Hermana Estrella who took a Group 3 on debut at Naas in May before finishing unplaced in the Irish 1,000 Guineas later that month. “We are just waiting on a bit of rain for Hermana Estrella. She’s fine and is in the (Group One) Flying Five," he said. Additional reporting by Alan Magee
