Catterick & Hereford Thursday Doubtful Thursday's meetings at Catterick and Hereford are in doubt after more freezing weather overnight. Temperatures at the North Yorkshire track dipped to as low as minus seven and as the course is currently frozen, clerk of the course Fiona Needham is not optimistic ahead of a 12pm inspection on Wednesday. Needham said: "It is very cold here now and it was minus seven overnight so obviously, we are frozen. The forecast seems to have deteriorated in that we are only forecast a slight frost tonight but then temperatures of minus three or four on Wednesday night." She added: "It is not good at the moment and we have called an inspection for 12pm on Wednesday." Officials at Hereford have virtually conceded defeat to the elements as they try to get Thursday's meeting to take place. The course has been hit by sub-zero temperatures on successive nights and there is no sign of a sufficient rise. Hereford's clerk of the course Katie Stephens said: "The chances are very slim. We are inspecting at 8am tomorrow morning and we'll need a miracle to run." She added: "It was minus eight last night, it's minus two at the moment and down to minus seven again tonight."
