Caught U Sleeping scores cosily on debut The Noel Meade trained Caught U Looking was given an educational ride by Dylan Browne McMonagle to capture the opening Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden at Naas. Positioned in the middle of the field, the well backed 17/2 shot made her move over two-furlongs from home when switching right to get a clear run. Elly Bay had travelled smoothly to head the long-time leader Pretty Liz who was threatened briefly by Goomah but she ran short of room when weakening a furlong out. The daughter of Cotai Glory picked up the lead once asked by her rider inside the final furlong. With one ear pricked inside the final 150 yards, she kept on well towards the finish to score by a length and a quarter. Noel Meade said, “We thought from the first time we got her that she was good. “She is a little bit fizzy, and I was a bit afraid first time out that she might boil up a bit, but she didn’t at all. She was very relaxed. “I said to Kevin O’Ryan (agent) that I needed a good jockey, and he said Dylan would ride her, but he might have to put up a 1lb over. I said the horse would win and he did the weight. “With those sort of fillies you nearly have to go for a stakes race. “Dylan was very positive about her after the race and said she pricked her ears when she hit the front and didn’t really know what was going on.” Additional reporting by Alan Magee
