Cee Bee aiming for another Naas success

Captain Cee Bee bids to maintain his 100% record at Naas when he makes his reappearance in the Poplar Square Chase tomorrow.

The nine-year-old, owned by JP McManus, made a successful debut over fences in a two-mile beginners chase there last December and won over the course and distance in February.

After disappointing in the Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham in March, he ended the campaign in style with victory in the Ryanair Novice Chase at Punchestown a month later.

He begins an eagerly-awaited second term over the bigger obstacles in a Grade Three contest where he takes on three smart rivals - Paul Flynn's Archie Boy, Catch Me, trained by Edward O'Grady and Tony Martin's Psycho.

"We've had a lot of rain today, but hopefully the ground will not be too soft," said Captain Cee Bee's trainer Eddie Harty.

"He's in good form and we'll see how he gets on tomorrow.

"He's done very well and looks fantastic. he's in good form and we'll know a lot more after the race."
