Cheveley Park Stud added to their growing interest at the top end of National Hunt racing when splashing out 430,000 pounds for point-to-point winner Grangeclare West at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale.

Gordon Elliott signed for the son of Presenting along with Cheveley Park, and the owner/trainer combination will be hoping he can add to the great success they have enjoyed in recent times most notably with the unbeaten Envoi Allen.

The four-year-old gelding, who was bought for 62,000 euro at last year’s Derby Sale, carried the colours of Edelle Logan when sent out by Denis Murphy to score on debut at Lingstown last month.

Shishkin won the same Lingstown maiden two years ago.

He attracted bids from a number of different parties including underbidder Tom Malone but was signed down to Elliott and Cheveley Park Stud with David Thompson in attendance.

Guily Billy will also be sporting the famous red, white and blue colours of Cheveley Park Stud after making 310,000 pounds. The four-year-old Coastal Path gelding won a four-year-old maiden for Donnchadh Doyle at Tinahely recently.
