Northern trainer David Christie enjoyed an 80/1 winner in Aintree yesterday when Koshari held on by a neck in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle over an extended three miles.

Jonathan Moore's mount stayed on to lead on the run-in and was strongly pressed by Deise Aba, but stuck to his guns to take the spoils.

The nine-year-old gelding sported cheekpieces for the first time. He was a major market drifter from 28/1 to 80/1.

This was his first start for Christie after switching from Willie Mullins for whom he won four times including a Grade B handicap hurdle at Punchestown in May.
